Tribute to Shadow - Shadow has passed away and will be greatly missed.
Shadow Run Farm is named after a wonderful horse named "Aged To Perfection" known by everyone as Shadow. Shadow has taught many, many girls and boys how to ride. I was lucky enough to come across and buy such an awesome horse. The first time I met shadow I was 16. I thought he was an ugly horse from the looks of him in the stall. When I found out he was the "fast one" and the most experienced horse to ride, I was hooked.
I rode Shadow for two years in lessons and showed him too. Over those two years, I fell in love with the big grey 17-hand TB gelding. I knew someday I was going to own him. When that day came, I never knew how it would change my life. Shadow and I went on to so many horse shows and got numerous champions and ribbons. I loved to ride him and he loved to be ridden. I used him in lessons to teach little children how to ride. He was so careful and proud to trot them around. All the kids loved him and he was spoiled with peppermints. This horse is so special to me and has brought me to where I am today. If it wasn't for him, I don't know where I would be. Shadow loved his job of teaching kids to ride. He would always put his ears up and just trot along. Everyone that comes in his path falls in love with his kind heart.

Shadow is a huge part of my heart and wish he was two years old again. In 2004 he was retired for good at age 25. He now spends his days hanging out with "the boys" and munching on grass. He is why I now have a farm. What better way to pay tribute to such a wonderful horse than to name the farm after him.
Thanks shadow. I love you boy!

Samantha Gault:
Owner and Trainer at Shadow Run Farm

Samantha Gault has been involved with horses all her life. It all started with pony rides from friend's horses in Georgia. When she was five she moved to Long Island, New York with her father. Her dad started her in weekly riding lessons at Glen Head stables in Glen Cove, New York. She was hooked from then on. Samantha had instruction weekly and sometime tri-weekly from that point on and started her show career at age six. When Samantha was twelve she started to volunteer at a trail barn called Park Stables in Old Bethpage, New York. For five years she did trail rides, cleaned stalls and took care of the trail horses. At age sixteen she started to teach summer camps there and took on some of her first students. While teaching and riding there she attended a two-year large animal care course at BOCES. After completing the course, she bought her first horse- Shadow.  Showing many other horses for clients and friends she focused on just her and Shadow. They went in to a huge show schedule and won lots of ribbons, trophies and year-end awards. All the while she had a client base of twenty. They ranged from age six and up. Samantha taught and rode for Gold Coast Equestrian center in Brookville, New York. Sam started college and was the captain of the riding team there and coached the team at shows the first year. After college she moved to Georgia again and taught at a few barns and showed Shadow and had fun.
In 2002 she bought a Mustang named Devil and trained and showed him around Georgia and winning a few ribbons. (He is now one of her prized lesson horses). She bought a few paint horses and showed in APHA shows for a year in Hunt seat, halter and Over fences and western pleasure. In 2004 she started to teach at Camelot Farms in Newnan, Ga. and wanted a place of her own. The search was on and in 2005, her husband, Harry and Samantha found what is now Shadow Run Farm. Samantha's life long love is her horses. Nothing makes her happier than having her horses home with her and teaching people how to ride and go to horse shows. Samantha plans on perusing her show career in APHA and IBHA and Open horse show and also bringing her students.
